Programs & Ministries

Something for Every Person at Every Stage

A vibrant faith community offers more than Sunday worship. At West Oxford United Church, our programs serve the whole person — nurturing faith, building friendships, caring for those in need, and equipping people to live out their calling in the world.

Children in Sunday School at West Oxford United Church

Nurturing the Next Generation

Children and youth are not the future of the church — they are the church, right now. We invest deeply in programs that nurture faith, curiosity, and character from the earliest ages.

Sunday School runs concurrently with Sunday morning worship, offering age-appropriate faith formation using engaging, biblically grounded curricula. Children learn the stories and values that will shape their lives.

Youth Group provides teenagers with a safe and welcoming space to explore faith, build friendships, engage in service projects, and grapple honestly with the big questions of life.

Vacation Bible School and seasonal events give children memorable experiences of community, creativity, and faith throughout the year.

Pastoral care and visitation ministry

A Caring Presence in Every Season

Life brings both joy and hardship. Our pastoral care ministry ensures that no one in our congregation or wider community faces their most difficult moments alone.

Visitation to those who are homebound, ill, or in hospital is a cornerstone of our ministry. Trained volunteers and pastoral leadership reach out to bring comfort, prayer, and the assurance of the community's love.

Bereavement support walks alongside families through loss — from planning meaningful memorial services to providing ongoing care in the weeks and months of grief.

Life transitions — welcoming new babies, celebrating milestones, navigating illness or change — are all occasions where pastoral care makes a profound difference.
