Guided by Purpose,
Rooted in Faith

Our mission and vision shape everything we do — from Sunday worship to weekday outreach, from pastoral care to community service.

Loving God, Serving Others

We are called to be a welcoming community of faith — proclaiming the love of God, nurturing the spiritual growth of every person, and reaching outward in compassionate service to our neighbours across rural Oxford County.

Inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ, we work to build a just, peaceful, and caring world — one relationship and one act of service at a time.

220 Years of Faith and Community

West Oxford United Church holds the distinction of being Oxford County's first organized congregation — founded in 1804 as the Episcopal Methodist Church of America.

Through two centuries of growth, change, and resilience — including the burning of our first log church during the War of 1812 — this congregation has remained a steadfast pillar of rural community life. Our beautiful brick church, erected in 1854, still stands as a testament to the faith of those who came before us.

Today, we are a warm, multigenerational congregation committed to relevant ministry, authentic fellowship, and compassionate service in the community we love.
